Joyce (Critzer) Hagee Obituary

Joyce Ann (Critzer) Hagee, 77, of Schuyler, died on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Green Acres Rehabilitation in Standardsville.

She was born on October 27, 1947, a daughter of the late George Alexander and Myrtle Virginia (Watson) Critzer.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jordon “Jerry” Lee Hagee; and a son, Gary Wayne Loeser.

Joyce attended Lane High School and worked in various retail stores in Charlottesville for 50 years, including Roses, Woolworth, and CVS.  Her hardworking nature and bright smile left a lasting impression on her customers and co-workers alike.  Always polished, she was known for her lipstick and perfectly done hair – a true lady, who loved shopping, and enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include a son, Timothy Lee Hagee (Cheryl Ruddock); seven grandchildren, Michael Hagee, Allexa and Victoria Loeser, Logan Underwood, Jordan Hagee, and Steven and Matthew Reese; one great-grandson, Atticus Tyler; a brother George Edward Critzer (Mae); and a daughter-in-law Sandra Reese-Loeser. 

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral home by Pastor Randy Golladay.  Burial will follow in Alberene Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025 at the funeral home.
