Julie Miller Shumaker, 71, of Scottsville, died on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
She was born on September 8, 1951, in Charlottesville, a daughter of the late Coleman Eugene and Laura Bell (Sprouse) Miller.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Lewis Shumaker; a sister, Elaine Saunders, and a brother, David Miller.
Mrs. Shumaker worked at Comdial for over thirty years and as a Lab Technician at UVA for fifteen years. Her greatest joy in life was caring for her family.
Survivors include her son, Brian Clay Shumaker of Scottsville; two sisters-in-law, Janet Lester of Charlottesville and Judy Miller of Scottsville; two brothers-in-law, Charles Shumaker of Scottsville and Harold Saunders of Richmond; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 12, 2023, in Alberene Cemetery by Pastor Randy Golladay.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice.
