Obituary
Justin Tray Scott, 38, of Schuyler, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
He was born on October 31, 1983, a son of William and Peggy Ann (Brown) Scott, who survive.
Justin was a graduate of Monticello High School and attended Piedmont Virginia Community College. He and his father owned and operated Apex Transport Solutions and Albemarle Property Maintenance.
Justin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Sara Eliza Scott and Viola Turner and Japeth Brown; an aunt, Cheryl Turner; and two uncles, Mark and Darryl Turner.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Mawyer) Scott; two daughters, Jaxon and Avia Scott; one brother, Shawn Scott of Schuyler; a sister, Christina Johnson (Marvin) of Richmond; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Connie Mawyer of Batesville; beloved dog Max; and a host of family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Esmont.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
