Kenneth Newton Moore

Kenneth Newton Moore, 94, of Scottsville passed away on January 2, 2024, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA.

Kenneth was retired from METRO in Washington, DC, was a member of the National Guard, 29th Division-116 Regiment-3rd Battalion K-Company, He also served as a member of the Honor Guard.

Kenneth was born on July 29, 1929, in Charlottesville, VA, a son of the late Massie Smith and Nellie Wilson (Jones) Moore

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Lillian Moore, and brother, Edwin Lee Moore

He is survived by his loving wife, Veneta Robinson Moore; a daughter, Brenda Lisa Moore; son, Keith Randall Moore; five grandchildren, Karen, Kevin, Victoria, David, and Jessica; several great-grandchildren; and a brother Charles F. Moore (Linda).

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 12PM at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Riverview Cemetery in Charlottesville.     

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
