Kimberly Kaye Hicks, 59, of Scottsville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at The University of Virginia Hospital surrounded by her loving family, after an extended illness.
She was born on July 20, 1963, in Charlottesville, VA, a daughter of Wayne and the late Frances (Durham) Proffit.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances (Durham) Proffit “Homie” and her nephew, Michael Wayne Viar.
Kim was employed by C & R Auto for many years, where she made numerous friends and was loved by Richard, Chris and Richie Marshall, the owners. Kim was someone that loved her family, she was very private and witty when she chose to be.
Survivors include her father, Wayne Proffit of Keene; three loving sisters, Shirley “Big Shirley” Ann Cromer of Crozet, Louise “Ruffie” Viar and partner, James Dudley of Scottsville and Pam “Bud” Henkel and husband, Robbie of Waynesboro; along with several nieces, a nephew and other extended family members and friends that will miss her dearly. Kim will truly be missed by a close-knit family.
The family would like to extend a huge “Thank You” to many medical staff at UVA Hospital for the love that was shown to Kim and the great care that was ministered to her.
The family will receive friends to pay their respects and celebrate the life of Kim from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.
