Linda Ann (Thacker) Marshall

Linda Ann (Thacker) Marshall, 80, of Scottsville, died Friday, September 8th, 2023 at University of Virginia Hospital after a tragic fall at home.

She was born June 6th, 1943, in Charlottesville, daughter of the late Homer D. Thacker and Claire Bloom Wood.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Thomas "Sonny" Marshall, Jr.

Mrs. Marshall was a “Matriarch,” a very dedicated and loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and friend to many.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, being very lovingly invested in everyone’s lives she crossed paths with over the years.

She also enjoyed bluegrass music being a part of a big community that became family to her.

She was a very beautiful, strong willed, kind, loving, “Small town woman” of Scottsville, VA. She was raised and lived in Scottsville, VA for most her life.

She touched many hearts of anyone who crossed her path in her life. She greeted everyone she met with a smile and listening ear ready for conversation.

Linda will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all whom she impacted on her beautiful journey here on earth.

Survivors include her husband, James "Jimmy" Thomas Marshall, Sr.; son, Kevin G Marshall of Scottsville; grandchildren, Keiara Louise Marshall,  all of Scottsville and Brandon Yancey of Dillwyn; and great grandchildren, Ryleigh and Jamerson Berry of Scottsville.

Mrs. Marshall will be cremated and buried by her family at a private service at a later date at Scottsville Cemetery.
