Lucy Eleanora (Yancey) Thompson

Lucy Eleanora Yancey Thompson, 91 of Fluvanna County, Scottsville, VA went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 26, 2024, at her residence.

She was born June 29, 1932, in Albemarle County, VA and was raised in Buckingham, County, VA, the daughter of the late Waverly and Sally Yancey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by in death by her husband, Joseph F. Thompson, and her son William James Thompson, II.

She is survived by two daughters, Sue Patterson and husband Ricky and Betty J. Marshall and her friend, Floyd Suddarth; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her family, Lucy had two special friends, Jake Wagner and Jeff Suddarth, II, which she thought of as family.

Lucy was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Scottsville, VA.

She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, being a homemaker, fishing, camping, gardening, sewing, and expressing her artistic talent and through her paintings.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Antioch Baptist Church with Reverends David Vogt and Denise Vogt officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
