Margaret Walker Obituary

Margaret Ann Walker, 81, of Scottsville, passed away peacefully at her home on July 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Virginia on July 8, 1944, to the late William and Claudia Dennis, Margaret lived a life defined by compassion, strength, and an unwavering dedication to caring for others. She was truly an angel on earth, devoting her life to service as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her gentle hands and kind heart touched countless lives during her career, especially during her many years at Westminster Canterbury in Charlottesville, where she retired at age 65.

Even after retirement, Margaret continued to embody selflessness, spending her later years caring for beloved family members during their final journeys. Her nurturing spirit, boundless love, and quiet strength were the cornerstone of her family.

Margaret found joy in life’s simple pleasures—sunny days at the beach, dancing to good music, curling up with a good book, and preparing delicious meals that brought everyone to the table. Her warmth and laughter left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Goodwin Cosby Walker III, and by her cherished parents.

Margaret's legacy lives on through her children: Goodwin (Courtney Bowers), Alfred, Walter, and Anne Marie Walker (Brian Pittman); her treasured grandchildren: Ashley Simpkins, Harley, Samantha, and Christina Walker, and Khalil and Malik Quinn; and her great-grandson, Jayden Quinn, who brought her endless joy.

She is also survived by many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and a circle of close friends who became family over the years. Each of them held a special place in her heart and will carry forward her memory with deep love and gratitude.

A celebration of Margaret’s beautiful life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 2515 Martin Kings Road Scottsville, VA 24590 from 5:00pm - 10:00pm. Family and friends will gather to honor the extraordinary woman she was.

Margaret will be remembered always for her unconditional love, generous heart, and the quiet grace with which she lived her life. Her legacy of compassion, care, and strength will live on in everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.
