Mary Ellen (Thompson) Lloyd

Heaven gained one amazing angel, Mary Ellen (Thompson) Lloyd. She went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, she was 102 years young. She will be remembered as a hard worker, for her loving spirit and quick wit and sense of humor. She loved yard sales. She had generous heart and a bright and beautiful smile. Mary enjoyed tending and talking to her flowers, she loved sewing and cooking. She loved animals, especially cats, lived her life to the fullest. She was a devoted wife and mother and was always there for her family and friends in a time of need. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her,but is now at peace with the Lord.

Mary had lived with her daughter, Barbara in Richmond for the past 12 years, but was born and raised in Scottsville, VA , Fluvanna County. She was born on May 5, 1918 to the late Charles and Bessie Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Lloyd; three brothers: Henry Lewis Thompson, Charles William Thompson, and James Thompson; five sisters: Annie Swan, Alice Davis, Lena Smith, Pauline Stewart, and Virginia Lambert.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Williams of Montpelier and Barbara Lloyd of Richmond; two grandsons, Mark Lewis and Craig Lewis.

A private burial will be conducted at Monticello Memory Gardens and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
