Moisesa Carnes Bailey

Moisesa Canares Bailey, 62, of Palmyra, died on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at her home, surrounded by family. 

She was born on February 7, 1964, in Cebu, Philippines, a daughter of the late Quirico Segismar and Lucia Racaza (Segovia) Canares. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a Vicente Canares, Quirico Camares Jr.. Zanita Paraiso.

Moisesa was a homemaker and enjoyed planting, word puzzles, shopping and she was an active member of the church and the Filipino community.

Survivors include her husband, John Davis Bailey: a daughter, Rachel Gustinegail Abella; and a son, Robert Abella Jr.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Palmyra with the Rev. John Nyanzi officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

Thacker Brothers Lake Monticello Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
