Patricia Lynn (Stevens) Schnittger

Patricia L. “Patty” Schnittger, 73, of Louisa, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 11, 2021. She was born February 7, 1948 in Suffern, NY to the late Richard and Martha Stevens. She is survived by her husband, Fred W. Schnittger Jr. of Louisa, VA, her daughter, Jennifer Gaines and her husband Joe, of Esmont, VA, their children Caleb Bouw and Ashley Gaines and her son, Fred W. Schnittger, III and his wife Sandra, of Snead Ferry, NC,  and their children Sophie, Chloe, and Liam, as well as her four-legged son Vincenzo “Vinny”. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Conklin and is survived by her sisters, Deborah Sell, Cookie Jones, Cheryl Sepinski, and brother William Stevens.

Patty graduated from Clarkstown High School in New City, NY in 1960 and spent most of her adult life in Rockland and Orange Counties in NY. She relocated to Louisa, VA in 2000. She held positions in bookkeeping, retail management, and phone communications. She retired as a fraud specialist with Wells Fargo. During her retirement she developed her many talents in creative arts; painting, jewelry making, drawing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, wood carving, and more. Patty was known for her colorful personality, sense of humor, and warm smile. She was a caring and loving grandmother.

A visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00pm – 7:00pm on Thursday, July 15, 2021 and a funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am on Friday, July 16th, 2021 both at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend services. Masks will be required unless fully vaccinated.

A private interment will follow at a later date at Spring Grove Memorial Park Cemetery in Mineral, VA.
