Patricia Ann (Thomas) Probst, 79, of Palmyra, died on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at her home and surrounded by family.
She was born on June 13, 1943, in Detroit, MI, a daughter of the late Wilbert and Beulah (Stinson) Thomas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Bob Thomas.
Patricia held a number of secretarial positions throughout her years, primarily at Indiana University, a friend’s engineering firm and her church, Southport Presbyterian in Indianapolis, where she was an active member. After moving to Virginia in 2017, she and her husband David attended Calvary Chapel Fluvanna. She enjoyed painting, gardening, traveling, cooking, reading, and singing in the choir, but her greatest love was serving Jesus and caring for her family.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, David Samuel Probst; a son, David Thomas Probst (Jennifer) of Mishawaka, IN; a daughter, Marcea (Marci) Kay Guthrie (Tom) of Palmyra, VA; five grandchildren, Kailyn Marie Wild (Tegan) of Charlottesville, VA; Madalyn Anne Haislip (Brian) of Scottsville, VA; and Nicholas David, Aiden Thomas and Garrett Samuel Probst of Mishawaka, IN; five great-grandchildren; Hazel Faith, Leroy James, Wynsor Ruth Wild; Annie May, Everett Clark, (another on the way) Haislip; two brothers, Gerald Thomas (Judy) and Bill Thomas (Jeanette), both of Indianapolis, IN.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 2:00 p.m at Calvary Chapel Fluvanna by Pastor Tom Guthrie and Pastor Warren McIvor, along with other pastoral staff.
