Peggy Jean Smith

Peggy Jean Crawford Smith, 70, of Buckingham Co., departed this life on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Martha Jefferson Hospital surrounded by loved ones and family.  

Peggy was a native of Albemarle County, born on October 3, 1954, to the late James Albert and Bessie Maupin Crawford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Lee Smith and brother Donnie Crawford.

Survivors include her son, Danny and his wife, Dixie, and their children Cole, Amber, Hunter, Ashley (husband Trevor) and one great grand-daughter Lynn Marie Agee.   Her son, Jimmy and his wife, Ryan... his children Sophie, Walker and Dustin. And also three sisters Wanda Mays, Gale Valentine, Janice Faarrar and two brothers Luther & Wayne Crawford.  Along with many nieces and nephew, loved ones and friends.  

Peggy dedicated more than 20 years in Food Service with Albemarle County Public Schools.  She was a member of Atlee Church.  She loved her family as well as reading the Bible.  

 A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Scottsville Cemetery with Pastor Winfred Jones officiating.
