Perry “Sput” Mason Harris 10/19/1957- 4/23/2024

Perry “Sput” Mason Harris, 66, of Afton, passed away on Tuesday April 23rd surrounded by family and friends. 

Sput was born in Albemarle County to the late Ollie Mason Harris and Alice Virginia Woody. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Carol Hart and his brother, Robbie Harris.

Sput is survived by his son Daniel Harris (Whitney) and Wally Harris (Lilly Demastus).  He is also survived by his two sisters Angie Faye Gable (John) and Becky Marshall (Willie) as well as a brother, Henry Woody. He had three granddaughters Payton, Reagan, and Adelyn, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Sput was an avid outdoorsman; he was the most at peace when in nature. He committed over 20 years to maintaining Blue Ridge Farm, which was much more than a job to him; It was his refuge from the rest of the world. 

Sput loved spending time with his sons Daniel and Wally. He was immensely proud of the men they had become. In his later years, he was best known as Pops by the girls who he adored. He referred to his granddaughters as his “whole world” and his love for them was evident. They brought out a soft side of Sput and put his generosity and love on full display. 

Sput also left behind his dog, Kylie, who was loyal until the end. Sput loved her and was rarely seen without her. 

Sput’s celebration of life will be held at Blue Ridge Farm in Afton on May 2, 2024, at 4 pm.
