Phillip Wayne Gough, Sr.

Phillip Wayne Gough, 59, of Scottsville, died on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at his home.

He was born on August 12, 1966, in Charlottesville, a son of the late Ruby Pearl (O’Brien) Gough Seale.

Phillip worked in Facilities Management at the University of Virginia.  He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, golf, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He loved coffee and working with his hands.  Over the past year, he fought a brave battle with small cell carcinoma.

Survivors include two sons, Phillip Wayne Gough, Jr., and John William Gough; a brother, Kerry Gough; two grandchildren, Remalyn Gough and Colt Gough; his fiancé Jane Cobb; two aunts, Virginia Hunt and Norma Taylor, two uncles James Davis and David Davis; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Fox Memorial Baptist Church by Pastor Randy Golladay.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
