Phyllis Laverne (Morris) Clements, 88, of Scottsville passed away surrounded by family on Monday, March 13, 2023 in Shanks, West Virginia.
She was born on Saturday, November 24, 1934, in Charlottesville, a daughter of the late George and Yvonne (Deane) Morris.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Clements, Jr.
Phyllis had a large heart and spent her life caring for others. She loved her family, enjoyed her crafts, and often passed the time watching and caring for the wildlife in her backyard. She was outspoken, tough, but above all, she was loving. She sang in her church’s choir, and especially loved singing “Amazing Grace”.
Survivors include five daughters; Debra Martin (David) of West Virginia, Phyllis Wilson (Phillip) of Fredericksburg, Wanda Mullins (Jerry) of Orange, Patti Inouye (Carl) of Culpeper, Annette Cline (George) of Bealton; two sons, Charlie Clements, III (Nancy) of Orange and William Clements (Rhonda) of Fredericksburg; a brother, Sydney Morris (Janie) of Scottsville; a sister, Ferne Ferneyhough (Milton) of Charlottesville; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of family and friends that will miss her dearly.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Alberene Cemetery.
