Phyllis McCauley Obituary

Phyllis Elizabeth McCauley passed away peacefully at home on May 4, 2026.  She was surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy rooted in devotion, resilience, and deep family bonds. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert McCauley Sr., with whom she shared many cherished years.

Phyllis was born to Maggie Elizabeth Marrs McCauley and John Raymond Harmon, and was also lovingly raised by her stepfather, Lankford Marrs. She grew up in a large family and was one of many siblings. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sister, Lewis, Junior, William, John, Woodrow, and Elizabeth and is survived by her siblings, Arthur (Margaret), Joe (Lisa), and Cathy (Henry), who will remember her with love.

Family was the center of Phyllis’s life. She was a devoted mother to Charles Harmon (Monica), Loretta Owens (Gary), Melissa McCauley, Robert McCauley Jr., and her late son Roy Lee McCauley. She also held a special place in her heart for her former daughter-in-law, Angela.

Phyllis was a proud and loving grandmother to Charles Jr., Victoria, Kenneth , Travis (Landey), Elizabeth (Carlton), Brian (Hailey), Emily, Amber (Colton), Savannah (Jamie), Justin, and Benjamin. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Vivien Nicole McCauley. Her legacy continues through her many great-grandchildren: Hunter, Pete, Charles III, Dallas, Sophia, Travis Jr., Braxton, Dexter, Calvin, Easton, Khloe, Nova, Kiera, and Hazel, each of whom brought her immense joy.

Phyllis found happiness in life’s simplest pleasures. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and treasured the time she spent playing rummy with her great-grandson Dexter—moments that will be fondly remembered by those who knew her best.

She will be remembered for her strength, her love of family, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the life of Phyllis and the love she shared so freely with her family and friends. We ask that You welcome her into Your eternal peace and surround her with Your grace. May she be joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Robert, and find comfort in his loving embrace once again. Comfort those who mourn her passing and fill their hearts with the cherished memories she leaves behind. May her spirit live on through the love she gave and the lives she touched. Grant strength, peace, and understanding to all who grieve, and remind us that love never truly fades. Amen.
