Rev. Kit Carson Turner

Rev. Kit Carson Tuner was born on July 12, 1958, to the late Willie Moses Turner and Martha Nell Turner in Charlottesville, Virginia. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Virene Creasy, Patricia Nelson, and Emma Washington; and by his brothers, Willie Turner, Alphonso Wayne, Bernard Wayne, and Tiny Wayne.

Kit was adopted at the age of two by Luther and Marion Wayne of Blenheim, Virginia. He was educated in the Albemarle County School System.

He transitioned at his home in Hyannis, Massachusetts, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, after battling a heart condition.

Kit worked at the University of Virginia as a chef for many years. He later moved to West Yarmouth, Massachusetts, where he started Turner Property Management. Rev. Kit was blessed with gifted hands, having worked as a carpenter, painter, and home improvement contractor.

He was called into the ministry at an early age. He was licensed and ordained under Rev. Albert G. Walker at Middle Oak Baptist Church on January 16, 1993. After moving to Hyannis, Massachusetts, he joined Zion Union Church, where he served as minister of the Gospel under Rev. Bernard Harris, Sr.

 A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Middle Oak Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
