Robert Allen Burger

Robert Allen Burger, 86, of Lake Monticello, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

He was born on December 30, 1935 in Newark, NJ, a son of the late Edgar and Agnes (Levy) Burger.

Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a driver for Bilkays Express for 38 years. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and attained a 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed horse racing and spending time with family.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Maureen Teresa Burger; four children and their spouses, Bob and Jayne Burger of Palmyra, Don and Kathy Burger of Hyattsville, MD, Linda and Joe Kenny of Palmyra, and Dan and Mindee Burger of Howell, NJ; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, led by the Rev. David Martin Ssentamu. Viewing and visitation with the family will begin at 9:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 4309 Thomas Jefferson Parkway, Palmyra, VA 22963.
