Robert Lee Harmon, Sr., 70, of Scottsville, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022.
He was born on August 1, 1951, a son of the late John Raymond Harmon and Maggie Elizabeth (McCauley) Marrs.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Josie Ann Harmon; four brothers, Woodrow Wilson McCauley, Lewis Eldridge Harmon, William Warfield McCauley, and Junior Oscar McCauley; his mother and father in-law whom he loved dearly, John Lee and Catherine Harmon; and his brother in-law, Robert Lee McCauley.
Bob was a “country boy” at heart who loved the outdoors! He worked for Glennmore Golf Course for 25 years, where his wife, Charlotte, joined him. He enjoyed cutting firewood and loved animals, he had two spoiled fur babies, his dog, Sweet Pea and his Parrot, Jimmy Buffet, whom he adored. He was a hard worker, a great husband and an amazing father. Bob will truly be missed by all that knew him!
Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years, Charlotte Ann Harmon; three brothers, Arthur Jackson Harmon and his wife, Margaret, of Scottsville, John Wayne Harmon and his wife, Pauline, of Covesville and Joseph Franklin Harmon and his wife, Lisa, of Charlottesville; 2 sisters, Phyllis Elizabeth McCauley and Cathy Elizabeth Harmon and her husband, Henry, of Scottsville; his son, Robert Harmon Jr.; a daughter, Kansas Lamb (James Wood); four grandchildren, Alexander Harmon, Victoria Morris (Adam), Donald Shifflet (Hailey); Brody Wood; his great grandchildren, Seth, Chevy, Destiny, Waylon, Aurora, Michael, Chevelle, Daryl and Josie, along with several other grandchildren whom he loved dearly; three brother in-laws, Danny and wife, Julia and children, Matt and wife, Theresa and Jesse and wife, Theresa; along with a host of extended family members, including nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Alberene Cemetery in Esmont, Va.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.
