Robert Lee Johnson, Jr., 77, of Scottsville, died on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 4, 1948, in Charlottesville, a son of the late Robert Lee Johnson, Sr., and Martha Daniel (Marsh) Johnson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Laveese (Mays) Johnson; a son Robert Scott Johnson; a grandson, Ryan Scott Allen Johnson; and a sister, Sue Mawyer.
Mr. Johnson was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and worked as head groundskeeper at Monticello for over 30 years. He was a hard worker and enjoyed being outdoors - especially hunting and gardening. His greatest love was spending time with his family.
Survivors include two daughters, Latita Clements and husband, Patrick, and Vickie Lynn Johnson and companion, Battle; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Johnson, all of Scottsville; four grandchildren, Chelsey Baker (Rodney), Luke Clements, Kelly Johnson, and Shelby Clements (Jason); three great-grandchildren, Blake Cochran, Owen King, and Hannah King; four sisters, Ann Whitbey, Barbara Vansant, Brenda Loeser, and Judy Johnson; and many extended family and friends who loved him very much.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Scottsville Cemetery with Pastor David Vogt officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 25, 2026, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.
