Robert David Pollard

Robert David “Bobby” Pollard, 71, left his earthly home in the early morning hours of March 21, 2023. Bobby was born on June 6, 1951 to the late David S. and Dorothy Haislip Pollard. 

He is survived by his bride of 51 years, Sharon Browning Pollard; his devoted son and caretaker, David; two grandchildren, Van and Avery; and two sisters, Betty Davis and Ellen Pollard. 

He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, William “Bill” Davis. 

Bobby was a 1969 graduate of Albemarle High School. He built his house on the family farm in Scottsville and remained there until his death. As a young man, he played in numerous softball leagues. If you ever met Bobby, chances are he either tried to sell you a car, or he tried to buy your car. 

Bobby sold Home Beneficial Life Insurance, and later he and Sharon owned Dorrier’s Insurance Co. in Scottsville.

A special thank you to Bobby’s sister, Betty, who stayed close and kept an eye on him when his health was failing and to his lifelong friend, Pam Isenhour Arnold. Pam was a blessing to Bobby and his family during his final weeks.

A memorial service will be held at Thacker Brother’s Scottsville Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 1, 2023. 

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
