Roger Dean Herndon

Roger Dean Herndon, 72, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022 in his home in Scottsville, VA.

Roger was born on Wednesday, March 22, 1950 in Charlottesville, VA, a son of the late Kenneth and Willie (Kirby) Herndon of Scottsville.

In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita (Wyland) Herndon; two brothers, Kenneth Malcolm, Jr. and Danny Alan Herndon; and a sister, Ella Johnson.

Roger spent much of his life doing contract work for construction, but his real passion was repairing and restoring cars. His sons fondly remember spending time helping him with his many projects in the garage.

Roger is survived by his two sons, Travis and Blake Herndon of Scottsville; two sisters, Joanne Herndon and Peggy Spradlin; and three brothers, Sammy Herndon, David Lee Herndon, and Frank Herndon; two grandsons, Matthew and Gavin Herndon; a great-grandson, Mason; and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.
