Rose Newton Obituary

Rose Marie (Gentry) Newton, 86, of Scottsville, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021.

Marie was born in Nelson County on December 12, 1934, a daughter of the late Raymond and Blanche (Sprouse) Gentry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Newton; son, Earl Newton; son-in-law, Charles Napier; brothers, Raymond, Jr., Carl, Alvin, and Clifford; sisters, Dora Jones and Lillie Mae Bush.

Marie leaves her daughter, Gwen Napier; son, Shannon and wife, JoAnn Newton; daughter-in-law, Gloria Newton; two grandchildren, Heather Morrison and husband, Rich and Erica Hamilton and husband, Jason; and five great grandchildren.

Marie and Sammy both worked at Uniroyal of Scottsville until their retirement. She will be remembered for her love of family.

At this time, there will be no services conducted.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.
