Ruth Louise Viar

Ruth Louise Viar, 60, of Scottsville, died on Tuesday, July 2, 2025 at her home.

She was born on June 29, 1965 in Charlottesville, a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Frances Irene (Durham) Hicks.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Viar; a sister, Kimberly Kaye Hicks; grandmother Flo Layne; and two brothers, Donnie and Roger Peyton.

Louise worked as a School Bus Driver for Albemarle County Public Schools. She enjoyed NASCAR, loved the beach, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her fiancé, James Dudley of Scottsville; a daughter, Tiffany Hicks and son-in-law, Anthony Jackson of Scottsville; two grandsons, Gage Mahunik and Graysen Hicks; two sisters, Shirley Ann Cromer of Crozet, and Pam Henkel of Waynesboro; and her stepfather, Wayne Proffit of Keene.   

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
