Samuel Ernest Newton

Samuel Ernest Newton, 87, of Scottsville, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. He was born on August 10, 1933.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Gladys (Duncan) Newton; son, Earl Newton; son-in-law, Charles Napier; brother, Henry Newton; and sisters, Dora Newton and Virginia Jamerson.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Marie, who on August 18th would have been married 70 years; his daughter, Gwen Napier; son, Shannon and wife, JoAnn Newton; daughter-in-law, Gloria Newton; two grandchildren, Heather and husband, Rich Morrison; Erica and husband, Jason Hamilton; five great grandchildren; brother, Bobby Newton of Quinton, VA; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Samuel worked at Uniroyal of Scottsville along with his wife until their retirement. Sammy will be remembered for his love of cooking, his sense of humor, and his love of talking to people.

At this time there will be no services conducted.
