December 8, 1946 ~ May 9, 2021 (age 74)


Sandra Steele Staton, 75, our beloved Momma, Nana, Aunt Sandy, Friend, of Scottsville, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021, at her home, with family by her side. Mom fought a long hard six year battle with cancer.

Sandra was born in Staten Island, NY on December 8, 1946 to Lewis Allen & Mamie Turner.

Sandra is preceded in death by her son, Dabney Lewis Staton; her husband of 40 years, Dabney “Sonny” R Staton, Jr.; brother, Lewis Allen Turner, Jr. “Unkie”; sister, Nancy A. Stahl.

Sandra is survived by her children: Ronald C. and wife,Deborah Steele, Rene S. and husband, James H. Snoddy, Jr., Dane R Staton, Darryl F and wife, Samaramyth “Sam” Staton; Goddaughter, Nicole Jelicks-Pratt; a special niece ,that was more of a daughter, Margret Turner; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, John A. Stahl; sister-in-law, Carol, Merle, and Janice; her BFF from childhood, Nancy Giovinazzo;15 Grandchildren: Lindsey (Anthony) Woodward, Morgan Steele, Lauren (Curtis) Partusch, Logan (Maddie) Steele, Michael (Maggie) Isenhour, Kayla (Lee) Rhodes, Allyson (Jared) Isenhour, Dana Staton, Joseph (Hannah) Staton, Ryan (Kayley) Loving, Kylie Via, Kiera Via;13 Great-grandchildren: Bentley, Alissa, Lincoln, Anthony, Carson, Anthony “Turner”, Avery, Oliver (Oli), Elijah, Bella, Doug, Owen, Ayden.

To all the wonderful Hospice providers of Mom we would like to extend our sincere thanks and let you know we could not have done this without you all. God sent us his strongest angels to help us be prepared and take care of Mom: Wanda Thurston, Teresa Martin, Katie, and Sharon Moore, who made mom’s day and life so much more comfortable thank you for all the cappuccinos, and niece, Marilyn Turner.  She loved you all so very much.
