Scott Krogh, 39, unexpectedly passed away at his home on Saturday morning August 10, 2024.
Scott’s life revolved around the relationships and bonds he forged with so many people, first being with his mother and father Nels and Jo Anne Krogh, whom he loved dearly and who meant so much to him. They instilled in him his love of sports and his deep sense of compassion and caring.
Secondly, Scott forged strong bonds with friends, including his wife Jamie Krogh, who he met while at Longwood University. He constantly kept in touch with friends giving them anything they needed before asking anything of himself.
Scott was a lifetime cat lover, adopting numerous cats throughout his life. He leaves behind two loving cats, Uni and Shade who were his pride and joy.
Scott, a Colonel at Fork Union Military Academy, personified the unwavering commitment to the FUMA mission of educating and developing young men. He worked tirelessly helping students at Fork Union by putting in extra time with students and taking phone calls with families to ensure students were successful.
On a more personal level, Scott loved the Carolina Panthers and NFL more than most, owning almost every Carolina Panthers jersey since they were founded in 1993. He loved to dive deep into the makeup of each NFL team on a yearly basis and was an avid Fantasy Football player. Scott was also an enthusiastic movie buff and enjoyed spending time with family and friends watching movies. He had a knack for finding shows or movies that you may have never seen or heard of that he thought you might like and wanted you to experience.
Scott is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents William and Zollie Carefoot, and paternal grandparents Peter and Thelma Krogh.
Scott is survived by his wife Jamie Krogh, his parents Nels and Jo Anne Krogh, Uncle Bobby and Aunt Linda Carefoot, Aunt Janet Krogh, nephew Rilee Saunders, goddaughter Mara Zawistowski, and several treasured honorary nieces and nephews, Owen Zawistowski, Kristalen, Aileen, Astrid and Sylvie Adams.
A memorial service is being planned at Fork Union Military Academy. More information will be forthcoming as plans are finalized.
