Sharon Anne (Willoughby) Benser, 76, of Palmyra, died Saturday, October 16, 2021, at her home.
She was born January 15, 1945, in Charlottesville, a daughter of the late Abram Marmaduke “Skip” and Anne Frost (Sommers) Willoughby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Leroy Benser, Jr.
Mrs. Benser retired from the State of Virginia after many years of service. She enjoyed genealogy, was very active in the Bowling Green Historic Society, Ruritans and Lions Club, and enjoyed entertaining family and friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathryn Hernandez (Charles) of Palmyra, and Stephanie Sprouse (Brecht) of Scottsville; and three grandchildren, Jessica Adkins, Hannah Sprouse, and Shelby Sprouse.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Mt. Nebo Lutheran Church Cemetery in Rochelle by the Rev. David Vogt.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Thacker Brothers Lake Monticello Funeral Home.
