Shelby Jene (Johnson) Palmer, 88, of Scottsville, died on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at her home.
She was born on October 6, 1937, a daughter of the late Van Duel and Ida Pauline (Ballowe) Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Jones; and a grandson, Jeramiah Stinson.
Shelby worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Bruce’s Drug Store for 40 years and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly, enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and flower arranging.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Dudley “Butch” Palmer; two sons Shannon Stinson (Sandra) of Scottsville, and Steve Stinson (Christy) of Buckingham; three grandchildren, Joshua Stinson (Jennifer), Madison Kildea (Charlie), and Gracie Mooney (Jonathan); and four great-grandchildren, Wesley, Rhea, Hannah, Levi.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Scottsville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.
