Shirley Morris Obituary

Shirley "Ann" Breeden Morris, 69 of Scottsville, VA passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and family on Tuesday August 6th of 2024 at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

She was born March 26, 1955, to the late Harry Mccoy and Shirley Isabell Marshall Breeden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Kayla Ariana Gainey and brother Bobby Breeden.

Ann was survived by her husband of 35 years Steve A. Morris, her daughter Anna Herring (Keith), her son James "Tony" Riggs (Denise), her grandchildren Dylan Gainey (Sydney), Elizabeth, Madeline, Megan, and Connor Riggs. great Grandchildren Lacey Roberts and Gunner Morris. Siblings include Tommy Breeden (Lynn), Vernon Breeden (Wanda), Davey Breeden (Virginia), Danny Breeden (Judy), Harry "Frankie" Breeden (Phyliss), Tina Meadows (Earl), and Sister-in-Law Penny Martin, and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

She belonged to the Women of the Moose, Charlottesville Chapter. She loved cooking, dancing, socializing, and shopping. She loved and enjoyed all her family and friends. She spent her days fussing at the news and watching her Soap Operas. However, the best thing to ever happen to her, the most important thing in her life, was her husband Steve. Steve was her Knight in Shining Armor for 35 years, and there was no stronger love than theirs.

Ann had a bookstore in Scottsville in 2002 named Ann's Enchanted Forest. Sadly in 2004, due to her battle with breast cancer she had to close it down. She enriched the community with knowledge, hospitality, and good conversation. After her stroke in 2018, she enjoyed spending the majority of her time with her family and friends. She was very blessed and very "wealthy" when it came to the people in her life. She recently enjoyed being a part of the Congregation of Daystar Worship Church in Gordonsville, Va.

The Family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the nurses and doctors at Martha Jefferson Hospital, and Wendell 2 for their beautiful and amazing care of Ann during her stay there.
