Shirley Ann (Bachmann) Todd

Shirley Ann (Bachmann) Todd, 91, of Lake Monticello, died on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in Charlottesville.

She was born on July 8, 1933, in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Clarence E. and Helen E. (Schlosser) Bachmann.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Phyllis J. Beck, brothers Clarence E. Bachmann Jr. and Dennis A. Bachmann and infant daughter Annette Todd.

Mrs. Todd worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Georgia Pacific Corporation and was a member of the Palmyra United Methodist Church.  She especially enjoyed minding the nursery during the early church service on Sundays.  Shirley also worked as a church secretary at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Staunton, Virginia.  Her support of children in poverty-stricken areas of the world through Child Fund was a project very dear to her heart for many years. 

Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Donald Clyde Todd; daughter Heather Hartle, son Eric Todd, grandchildren Laura Hartle, Calvin Todd, Alex Hartle, Bryan Todd, Kelly Todd, and great-granddaughter Alice Hennig.  Extended immediate family include Rick Fahnestock, Debra Todd, Steve Hennig, Michelle Todd, and Dan Kennedy. Her grace and strength have touched the hearts of all who knew her. 

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Thacker Brothers Lake Monticello Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Monticello Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
