Susan Victoria Knight Ringwood of Palmyra, Virginia, left this earth for her home in heaven on Sunday, May 26, 2024.
Susan was born August 29, 1960, to the late Alexander Knight and Audrey Rosetta Skeen Knight.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Albert James Ringwood and her brother, Roger Knight.
She is survived by her daughter Christina Shumaker, husband Ricky, and granddaughters, Lizzy and Ainsley; her son Timothy Ringwood, wife Grace, and grandson James; her sister Ellen Johnson and brother-in-law Andy Johnson; sister Rosetta Snead; sister-in-law Cindy Knight, many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.
Susan was a great woman of faith and served at Open Door Church faithfully for over 40 years. She served as church secretary, a member of the praise and worship team, was a faithful prayer group member, nursery worker, Sunday School teacher, and many other jobs too numerous to list. Her greatest joy in life was her family, serving Jesus, and serving her church. In addition, Susan also served as secretary and bookkeeper at Open Door Christian School for over 30 years. She loved working at the school and was equally faithful in her service to the school. We are confident that a great reward awaits her for a life lived serving others.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Open Door Church, 551 Lake Road, Troy, VA 22974.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the church Susan loved, Open Door Church, P.O. Box 970, Troy, VA 22974.
Many thanks to everyone for your endless prayers, support, love, and concern for Susan. We love and appreciate each one of you so much. Susan’s favorite hymn was “Blessed Assurance.” She wanted to make sure Jesus was at the center of her final service. What were her parting wishes? Make sure you do not leave this earth without being born again and knowing Jesus Christ as your Savior.
