Teresa Elizabeth Jordan, of Palmyra, Virginia, lost her battle to cancer and gained her wings on August 10, 2021. She was born in Charlottesville, on June 12, 1960 to the late James Henry Sr. and Mary lee (Breeden) Kirby.
She graduated from Fluvanna High School and obtained her CNA certification from Piedmont Community College. With her certification, she worked at Albemarle Health and Rehab and will be remembered by many patients for her loving and compassionate care. Teresa was a nature lover. She enjoyed cooking, walking, birdwatching, and spending time with her family and dogs.
In addition to her parents, Teresa is preceded in death by her brother, James H. Kirby Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jennifer Cowan and husband, C.J., C.J. Jordan and wife, Michelle, Brad Batten, and Nicholas Kirby; grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Kaylynn, Matthew, Macie, Mason, Kymberly, Kristopher, Miles, and Kierstyn; sister, Rose Denby and husband, Eddie; brothers, Robert Kirby and Ronald Lee Kirby and wife, Lori; as well as numerous extended family and loved ones.
She is also survived by her four-legged friend, Sparky.
A celebration of life service will be conducted on Friday, August 13, 2021, at 7:00pm at Wesley’s Chapel.
Family will receive friends from 6pm to 7pm, prior to the services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Teresa’s memory to Phillips Cancer Center at Martha Jefferson Hospital or Hospice of the Piedmont.
