Thomas Aaron Evans, 64 of Scottsville passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, July 5, 2024.
Tom is survived by his wife Lori Lynne Folk (Evans), his daughter Hannah Erin Evans and his stepdaughter Meghan Folk. He is also survived by his mother Barbara Jean Evans and father Otha (Johnny) Evans as well as his two sisters, Debra Faye Wheeler (Dave) and Kimberly Sue McDonald (Mick). He will be missed by his nephews, Zachary Wheeler, Joshua Wheeler, and Sean McDonald. There are many other family members who will miss Tom; his sense of humor and the big bear hugs. We would be remiss not to mention his love for his animals. He always had a love for his ponies and numerous cats!
Tom was a kind, caring gentle soul who loved the Lord and served Him faithfully at Scottsville Baptist Church. He was a member of the Hospitality and the Building and Grounds Teams. No job was too menial for him; emptying trash, washing dishes or whatever needed to be done, he was available. Tom was always willing to “sit a spell, chat and listen” to people. He loved being able to just serve in whatever capacity he could.
Tom took pride in the work he did as a self-employed contractor. He was not satisfied until the job was done just right. He was a friend to all the folks he worked for in the Scottsville area and made himself available to his special customers (you know who you are; know too that he loved you and enjoyed his time with you!).
Tom, we, as your family, love you and will miss you! Until we meet again, Rest in Peace.
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and portion forever. Psalm 73: 26 NIV
