Thomas G. Ward, Sr.

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Thomas Ward Sr., who departed this life on June 21, 2025, at the age of 77. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, Navy veteran, and friend, Thomas will be remembered for the steady strength, quick humor, compassion, and quiet wisdom that shaped every part of his life.

Born on September 25, 1947, Thomas lived a life rooted in love, family, and integrity. For 55 years, he shared an unbreakable bond with his beloved wife, Doris Ward. Their marriage was a foundation not only for their own family but also a source of inspiration to all who knew them.

He was the proud father of Tom Ward, Jr. (Maren) and Shawn Ward (Stacy), and an adoring grandfather to Emily and Ava (children of Tom and Maren) and Grey and Dean (children of Shawn and Stacy).

Tom was preceded in death by a sister, four brothers, and is survived by his sisters Frieda, Nancy, and Ginny Sue.  His love for his family was quiet but fierce, expressed in countless everyday moments that left lasting impressions.

Thomas was a man who didn’t need to speak loudly to be heard. His presence offered calm, his actions showed care, and his values were passed down through generations. Whether offering advice, lending a hand, or simply sitting beside a loved one in silence, he made people feel safe, supported, and seen.  He leaves behind a family who will carry his memory with deep affection and gratitude.

The family will gather to honor and celebrate Thomas' tremendous life in a private ceremony. To honor his life well lived, the family asks you to pause and listen to those around you.
