Timothy “Timmy” Lee Draper Sr, 62, of Charlottesville, passed on peacefully to his final resting place surrounded by his family on August 29, 2023, at UVA Medical Center after a hard-fought battle with Acute Leukemia.
He was born on February 24, 1961, in Charlottesville, to the late John and Mildred Draper. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Baber, and father-in-law, Buck Willoughby.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Sandra Draper; three children, Timothy Draper Jr, Thomas “Tommy” Draper and wife Lauryn, Darby Whindleton and husband, Cedric; and his two favorite people in the world, his grandsons, Timothy Draper III, and Camden Whindleton.
Timmy was a lover of life, and never knew a stranger. He enjoyed talking to each and every person who crossed his path. He took much pride in owning and running his own business, Tim’s Drywall & Painting for many years. He loved family vacations, camping, car shows with his oldest grandson, Timothy, and entering his mustang into the competitions, being outside, his son-in-law’s cooking, driving cars and monster trucks with his youngest grandson, Camden, and was an avid UVA sports fan, but above all, the most important thing in his life was spending time with his family.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the ECCC Infusion Clinic for the great care they provided for him throughout the last 7 months. They would like to extend a special Thank You to Dr. Mike Keng and Kim Conrad, NP for their dedicated, compassionate, and endless care they provided for not only Timmy, but for the family as well throughout his entire sickness.
A funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home, Scottsville VA officiated by Pastor Donald Fields. Burial will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family would like to invite friends and loved ones to gather at their home, 1203 Long Acre Road, Palmyra, VA 22963, following the graveside service at Monticello Memory Gardens.
