William Jackson Armistead

William J. (Jackie) Armistead, 88, of Woodridge passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
Born June 15, 1935 in Albemarle County, he was the son of the late Jackson B. and Maude R. Armistead.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Irving Armistead.
Jackie is survived by his loving wife, Edna, of 66 years; daughters, Robin (Mark) Wawner and Patricia (Robert) Berce and son, Willie Armistead; five grandchildren, Mickey (Lindsey) Berce, Mandy (Brad) Berce, Meredith Berce, Wade (Savannah) Wawner and Matt Wawner; four great grandchildren, Kennedy, Teddy, Cameron and Sonny; a sister, Joy Thacker; a brother-in-law Charles (Lindsay) Kidd and a multitude of family and friends. A special thanks to those who have supported Jackie through these last years.
Jackie loved his family and the Baltimore Orioles. Baseball was his favorite past time both playing in his youth and watching all his life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Bethel United Methodist Church, 4899 Rolling Rd., Scottsville, VA 24590 or to a charity of your choosing.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Monticello Memory Gardens.
