William "Billy" Francis Critzer

William (Billy) Francis Critzer, 81, of Scottsville passed away on April 10, 2025, at UVA Hospital.

William was a native of Scottsville, Virginia. Born on May 23, 1943, to the late Atwell and Willie Critzer.

He spent more than 30 years with the Virginia Department of Transportation as an Inspector. Once he retired Billy spent time working with Unlimited Excavating and Payne Paving. When he was not working, he enjoyed spending time with his family. 

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by brothers Freddie, Wesley, James Critzer and daughter-in-law Kathy Critzer.

William leaves behind his son, W. Kevin Critzer of Quinton, VA, and his daughter Donna McGuire (Bennie) of Scottsville. Five grandchildren, Will Critzer, Erica Tiernan (Alex), Luke Critzer, Whitney Golladay (Josh), Martin McGuire (Mackenzie) and seven great-grandchildren, Heather, Matthew, Billy, Lauryn, Jett, Grace and Brody; and one brother, Thomas Critzer of Scottsville.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Fluvanna Baptist Church Cemetery, 7454 W. River Rd. Scottsville, VA 24590 with Randy Golladay presiding.
