Willie Lewis Turner, age 78, of Keene Virginia, departed this life on Saturday, May
16, 2026, at his home surrounded by family and loved ones. Born on January 12,
1948, in Buckingham Virginia, Willie was the son of the late Willie Moses Turner and Martha Turner.
Willie was a man defined by hard work, quiet strength, and a deep love for his
family. From a young age, he labored in tree work and developed a remarkable gift
for identifying any tree and knowing exactly how it would burn in a wood stove.
His work ethic carried him through many years of dedicated service with Lee Tennis
Products and later with Luck Stone as a truck driver. He took great pride in his work and providing for those he loved.
Willie enjoyed the simple joys of life; fast cars, good music and dancing. His
signature two-step was known to all who loved him, a dance that was uniquely his and will be remembered with smiles for years to come.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willie Moses Turner and Martha Turner; his
wife the love of his life Carolyn Turner, his daughter, Tashia Turner; and his siblings
Emma Mae Washington, Patricia Ann Nelson and Virene Creasy.
Willie leaves to cherish his memory; his children Sarah Allen of Waynesboro Va.,
Phyllis Turner of Charlottesville Va., and Emma Turner of Richmond Va. His
siblings; Phyllis Hudson, Elaine Feggans, Vanessa Agee, Gary Turner, Calvin Turner, Kit
Turner, Jeffrey Turner and Jason Turner. His long time companion Joyce Stinnie, His
grandchildren Natisha Barber, Danielle Webster, Candice Turner, Christopher
Turner, Logan Turner, Shynae Turner, Khole Turner, Kierra Turner and Karolyn
Turner, 10 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, extended family,
loved ones and friends who will hold him in their hearts.
Willie's life was a testament to resilience, loyalty, and love. His presence will be
deeply missed, but his legacy will continue in the lives of all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at
Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.
