Delores Marie (Snead) Davis, 72, of Scottsville, died Friday afternoon, March 9, 2012 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville. She was born on March 21, 1939, the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Hester (Myers) Snead. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Richard Hall Davis, Sr. and a son, Darrin E. Davis. Mrs. Davis was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed fishing and tending to her plants, flowers, and fish. She is survived by four sons, Richard H. Davis, Jr. and his companion, Sandy Bourne of Scottsville, Justin W. Davis and his wife, Susan of Zions Crossroads, David L. Davis and his wife, Cindy of Zions Crossroads, and Glen R. Davis and his wife, Missy of Scottsville; a sister, JoAnn Amos and husband, Charles of Richmond; a half sister, Carol Henshaw; a half brother, Joseph S. Snead, Jr.; four granddaughters, Angela, Kelee, Brittany, and Amber Davis; five grandsons, Ricky, Willie Joe, Harley, Robert Paul and David Alan Davis; two great granddaughters, Kaitlyn Murray and Anna Goode; several sisters and brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 P.M., Monday evening, March 12, 2012 at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home in Scottsville. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in the Scottsville Cemetery, with the Reverend James C. Jetton officiating. I will always remember how you loved your plants inside and out. How we played bored games, stayed up late waching TV Land an playing word games on tv. Our trips to town and that ol tape you had with the souds on it we listened to when i was little. Grandma i love you more then words can say and i will miss coming to stay with you and sitting out on the porch. Im happy to say that you are home with Grandpa and Darren and watching down over us all. I love you and miss you! Love always ur little Britt-Brat Brittany
