Rebecca Collier Schultz

 

     Rebecca Collier Schultz, 86, formerly of Scottsville passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 in Huntsville, Alabama.    

     She was born on December 25, 1931, a daughter of the late Henry Hudson  and Annie (Frazier) Collier.     

      In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Francis J. Morris, Virgie M. O’Brien, Henry Collier Royster, Amos Collier, William Collier, and Verta P. Gentry; and two great-grandsons, Brandon Christopher Thornton and Jonathan Charles Thornton.

     Rebecca was a member of the Latham United Methodist Church Huntsville, Alabama; a Life Member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 370 Michigan; the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 3646; Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Berkley, Michigan Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 9222; and a Member of Women of the Moose, Skidway Lake, Michigan Chapter 1672.   

    Survivors include five children: Rebecca Pearl Bennett and husband, Michael of Flint, Michigan, Harold Amos Howell and wife, Barbara of Ortonville, Michigan, Annie Schwartz of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Mary Lavinia Thornton and husband, Jimmy of Huntsville, Alabama, and Margaret Rae Donkerbrook and husband, Wayne of Alexandria, Virginia; eleven grandchildren: Rebecca Anne Chaiser and husband, Alcid of Leonard, Michigan, Bobbi Jo Victory and Michael Lee Beck both of Oxford, Michigan, Jason Mitchell Howell and Amanda Marie Howell both of Ortonville, Michigan, Sarah Rachel Schwartz-Becnel and husband Sean of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, David Micah Schwartz and wife, Jessica Baronet of Las Vegas, Nevada, Constance Elizabeth Thornton, Tammy Lynn Thornton, and Jimmy Allen "JT" Thornton and wife, Kelly, all of Huntsville, Alabama, and Gregory Douglas Donkerbrook and wife, Ashley of Sacramento, California; nine great-grandchildren: Marcus Alexzander DeClue, Ashley Lynn Bennefield, Savannah Lynn Bennefield, Thomas Christian Thornton, Matthew Thornton, Zachary Douglas Thornton, Kaylee Nicole Pankey, Corinne Rae Donkerbrook, and Rebekah Leah Schwartz-Becnel; a sister-in-law, Mary Morris Collier of Scottsville; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.    

      A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 30, 2018 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home by Pastor Bruce Lugn.  Interment will follow in the Scottsville Cemetery.     

      The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday.
