Dear Mary Katherine and the entire Easter family,

While words cannot really express out thought at Calvin's passing, Brenda and I are really stunned and overwhelmed by his death. Calvin was one of the finest person that we knew, and we always enjoyed our visits with him. Unfortunately, Brenda's health has prevented this for several years. I know that I have missed seeing him, and now I know that I can never see him again. At the present time I am on a musical tour of Europe until May tenth, so I will be unable to attend the funeral, which seriously hurts me. Brenda is really upset at his very untimely passing, and I don't think that she will be physically and mentally capable of attending, based on my phone calls with her. I understand that Matthew, who first told me about this sad event, will have to represent the Whitfield family. Love to all, John Whitfield

We are so sorry to hear of his passing. We only had a few minutes to converse at the birthday party for Lisa, but I know it is a great loss to his family and all who knew him. May God comfort all of you throughout your journey.
