William Donald Sprouse

 

     William Donald "Billy" Sprouse, Sr., 53, of Scottsville, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at home.    

     He was born on October 11, 1965, a son of the late Roy Dabney Sprouse, Jr. and Jacqueline Evelyn (Beverly) Sprouse.     

      In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Henry Sprouse;  two sisters: Rosa Mildred Hensley and Sandra Kay Hagee; and a step-daughter, Jennifer Lam.

     Before becoming disabled, Billy worked as a truck driver for Allied Concrete. He enjoyed working and was a "workaholic".  He enjoyed listening to music and watching Westerns and Nascar.  However, spending time with his family was his greatest joy.   

     Survivors include his wife, Gloria Ann Sprouse; a son, William Donald Sprouse, Jr. and wife, Tiffany and Lucresser M. Sprouse-Hernandez and husband, Alex Hernandez of Scottsville; three sisters: Katherine Sprouse, Evelyn Gentry and Darlene Shortridge; five grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews, and other extended family members.

     Special thanks to devoted family members: Lynia Teran-Lopez, Steven Sprouse, Timothy Sprouse, James Gentry, Linda Morris, Delta Gibson, and Karleen Brown; and Hospice of the Piedmont for all of their loving and compassionate care of Billy.

     A funeral service will be conducted by at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Charlottesville.

     The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 pm, on Friday evening, February 1, 2019 at the funeral home.
